Top seeds have it easy

VIJAYAWADA: Top seeds Petroleum Sports Promotion Board Academy (Ajmer) boys and North Bengal girls had an easy outing in the first round in the cadet team championships blanking Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir 3-0 respectively in the 70th sub-junior inter-State table tennis championship here on Monday.

Amidst series of one-sided encounters, Tamil Nadu boys, led by V. Abinay and Sachin Viswanath, blanked Chandigarh 3-0, while girls ousted Meghalaya with identical margin.

In the cadet girls’ segment, the last year silver medallist AP outplayed Uttar Pradesh 3-0.
