Propagate schemes: APCC chief

Staff Reporter

‘42 Congress MLAs submit letter to Sonia Gandhi’

‘She will take proper decision at an appropriate time’

ADILABAD: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president D. Srinivas on Monday warned Congress workers of the bad scenario if the party loses power in the coming elections. “If we lose power it will not augur well for you or the leaders,” he warned at a meeting of Adilabad District Congress party workers at Mancherial.

Mr. Srinivas asked party activists to propagate the welfare measures being taken by the government for the benefit of the poor and common people.

He said the party workers should ask for people’s votes on the strength of developmental works executed by Congress during the rule of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

The APCC president exhorted party activists to take to task officials who did not perform well. He said the Congress party will provide needed support to its workers who questioned the negligent officials about ignoring development in their area.

YSR praised

The APCC president showered praise on the Chief Minister in his address to the large gathering.

He said Dr. Reddy had successfully made efforts to fulfil the dreams of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by launching several welfare schemes.

Confidence

On the issue of Telangana, Mr. Srinivas expressed confidence in Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s power of judgement.

He said 42 Congress Legislators had submitted a letter to her that carried their opinion on the issue. “She will take a proper decision at an appropriate time,” was how he put it.

“The issue need not be discussed daily,” he added.

District Congress Committee president and Adilabad MLA C. Ramchander Reddy, Adilabad MP A. Indrakaran Reddy, Luxettipet MLA N. Diwakar Rao and Sirpur MLA Koneru Konappa, LCs Sultan Ahmed and K. Premsagar Rao were among the leaders who attended the meeting.
