Salesmen suspended

TIRUCHI: Two salesmen of the cooperative fair price shops have been placed under suspension in connection with irregularities in the supply of essential commodities to the public. A flying squad team of the Cooperatives Department conducted surprise inspection at several fair price shops in various parts of the district on Friday. During the raids irregularities such as understock of commodities worth Rs. 9,300, sale of essential commodities through bogus bills to the tune of Rs. 12,138, excess scale of supply and deficit of non-controlled stock worth Rs. 3,426 were detected.
