Lok Satta issues note of caution

HYDERABAD: Lok Satta Party has urged people to be on guard against politicians trying to foment regional animosities with reckless comments.

In a statement here on Monday, party’s functionaries Bodepudi Satyanarayana and Geeta Murthy, said that leaders of different parties were indulging in gestures and comments that devalue politics. Far from attracting new blood and strengthening democracy, politicians were accentuating revulsion.

A more dangerous trend was holding the people of a particular region responsible for the unsavoury comments or the odd behaviour of a leader belonging to that region. “Such a tendency will set people of different regions on a collision course” they warned.
