‘Complete development works by December’

DHARMAPURI: Viswanath A. Shegaonkar, Secretary to Government of Tamil Nadu, Handlooms and Khadi and Village Industries Commission, asked the officials to complete all the pending development works with specified quality before the end of December.

Mr. Shegaonkar held a meeting here on Tuesday to review the various development activities undertaken in the district so far, and the schemes to be implemented this fiscal.

He told the officials not to surrender the funds allotted for the works. “Complete the works earlier than the scheduled time with quality,” he said.

Collector P. Amutha, District Revenue Officer R. Maheshwari, Project Officer (DRDA) N. Swaminathan and the heads of departments participated in the meeting.

Later, Mr. Shegaonkar visited the Adhiyaman Lake, where works are being undertaken under the NREG Scheme, Adhiyaman Kottam PHC, and Adhiyaman Kottam in Nallampalli Panchayat Union.

He also inspected the building construction work for the Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Adhiyaman Kottam and the construction of tank bund and library building under the Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam.

In Harur, Mr. Shegaonkar inspected the site where the construction of Uzhavar Sandhai (Farmers Market) is going on.
