Corrections and clarifications

* * The penultimate paragraph in a report “I was tortured, says Purohit” (November 25, 2008) was “The other suspects also made similar allegations of ill-treatment amounting to violation of human rights. While sadhvi Pragnya had already submitted an affidavit in the Nashik court, on Monday she described her experience, adding that she was hung naked upside down and beaten up.” The Correspondent clarifies: “Pragnya was not hung upside down. She alleged that ATS officers threatened her that she would be hung upside down naked and beaten. The act was not actually committed. It was a threat.”

* * The first paragraph of a PTI report “Jackman ‘Sexiest Man Alive’” (“International” page, November 21, 2008) was “Australian actor Huge Jackman (40) has been voted as Sexiest Man Alive for 2008 by People magazine.” The actor’s name is Hugh Michael Jackman.
