200 houses destroyed in fire

VIZIANAGARAM: In a major fire accident at Peda Pathivada village in Poosapatirega mandal on Tuesday afternoon some 200 houses were destroyed and rendered an equal number of families homeless. According to reports received here, the fire started in a house spread to other houses within a few minutes due to strong surface winds. Fire fighting units from Vizianagaram rushed to the village to put out the fire. The cause of fire is not known.
