TDP will be left with Gajwel, Andol, Zaheerabad, Medak to contest from TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao likely to contest Medak LS seat SANGAREDDY: Leaders of the Telugu Desam Party in the district are more than happy as the stage has been set for formation of Grand Alliance in the next elections. However, they are aware that they have to get the cadre psychologically ready for sacrifices ‘for the sake of power.’ TDP leaders are assessing that they will be able to contest from only four out of the 10 Assembly seats in the district as the remaining seats will be adjusted among the partners. This assessment is being done with a strong belief that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will also become part of the Grand Alliance, as it is left with no alternative with AICC general secretary Veerappa Moily making it clear that it is not easy to introduce a bill on separate state in Parliament. According to a TDP leader, the party has to sacrifice Narasapur Assembly seat to the CPI as it is the stronghold of that party. Similarly, it has to forego either Sangareddy or the newly formed Patancheru seat for the CPI(M) which has been trying for long to establish itself. For TRSSimilarly, four seats including that of Siddipet and Ramayampet (now it will be part of Medak segment) should be left to TRS, as they are sitting seats of that party. “We will be left with only four seats to contest including Gajwel, Andol, Zaheerabad and Medak. However, there might be changes here and there depending on the equations and requirements. As it is almost clear that TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao will contest from Medak Lok Sabha seat, the Grand Alliance will have advantage in the district. To capture power, we have to make certain sacrifices,” says a TDP leader on condition of anonymity.
