Seminar on spoken English
PENUGONDA: A national seminar on “Teaching of spoken English in rural colleges” will be held here for two days from November 28 under the aegis of SVKP and Dr. K.S. Raju Arts and Science College. The themes, which are likely to come up for discussion during the seminar include teaching of spoken English, spoken English vs. communication skills, present scenario of spoken English in colleges and necessity of grammar in spoken English, according to college Principal Y.N. Sanjeeva Kumar. Over 200 delegates are expected to take part in the programme from different states across the country and 50 papers were received from experts on different topics.
AU Vice-Chancellor B. Satyanarayana will inaugurate the seminar while Nannayya University Vice Chancellor Nirupa Rani and University Grants Commission Joint Secretary G. Srinivas attend. The Principal said the programme would focus on the need to bridge the urban-rural divide in terms of communication skills.
