KANNUR: The Powerloom Service Centre here under the Ministry of Textiles has invited applications for the two-month basic powerloom weaving training programme beginning from December 1. A press release from the centre located at Marakkarkandy here said that candidates who attained the age of 18 as on November 30 were eligible to apply. Stipend would be provided to the eligible candidates for attending the training programme, it said adding that the programme would be useful for candidates residing at powerloom concentrated areas such as Kadirur, Vengad, Panunda, Nadal, Echur, Azhikode, Kannadiparamba, Kanhirode and Chirakkal. —Special Correspondent
