IRCTC plan for Ayyappa pilgrims

KOZHIKODE: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), tourism arm of the Railways, has launched a special package for Sabarimala pilgrims.

The services include confirmed accommodation on the Maveli Express (No: 6603\04) apart from transport and food arrangements for the pilgrims.

The three-night package will be in operation through out the festival season till January 12.

Apart from Mangalore, pilgrims have the option to join the package from Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Nileshwar, Payyannur, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara and Kozhikode.

The package assures hall accommodation with mat at the Sannidhanam and all food during travel, apart from to and fro berth accommodation in train.

The package is priced at Rs.1,800 per person and can be booked at Mangalore (9964318278) and Kozhikode (9446539292). The IRCTC also operates similar Sabarimala packages from Bangalore and Chennai during the festival season.

The IRCTC is also offering packages to Mookambika. It covers major temples including Mookambika, Udupi, Dharmastala, Sringeri, Murudeswar and Kattil Devi.

It assures berth accommodation to Mangalore from Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram and also other transport arrangements and accommodation for the pilgrims at Kollur and Udupi.

The rate per person for the Thiruvananthapuram-Mookambika package is Rs.3,000 and the Chennai-Mookambika package Rs.3,250.
