VISAKHAPATNAM: Mobile service provider Airtel has expanded its services by adding more than 25 new locations to its network bringing more towns and villages into its fold in the Visakhapatnam zone. The Visakhapatnam zone comprises East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts. The new locations connected include Komaragiri, Edupuram, Gaganpally, Penubaka, Koyyam, Akulakatta, Chodavaram, Naidupeta and Pirdi. A press release says connecting more than 4,075 locations in Visakhapatnam zone, Airtel, the leading operator in Andhra Pradesh, covers 83 per cent population in the zone with 13,700 retail outlets to service the customers. As a result of expansion to these towns and villages, customers can enjoy full connectivity on the country’s largest GSM network. Announcing the launch in the new locations, Bharti Airtel AP CEO (Mobile Services) Elango T. said on Tuesday that more towns and villages would be added to the network in the next few months. He said the rollout to new locations was a reflection of the network’s commitment to make services available in the remotest areas. Airtel has the largest network across Andhra Pradesh with 7.8 million customers.
