Drive against bootlegging

NEW DELHI: In view of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, the State Excise Department has launched an anti-bootlegging drive to prevent smuggling of liquor and its illegal sale and distribution.

The drive will conclude on polling day, November 29. So far, 40 cases have been registered and 45 people arrested. The Excise Department has seized 18 vehicles and 7,086 bottles of IMFL and 6,334 bottles of country-made liquor. The seizure also includes a consignment intercepted at Jaitpur being smuggled in from Haryana.
