One-time settlement of sales tax arrears

SALEM: The State Government has launched a scheme for the one-time settlement of sales tax arrears for the period between 1991-92 and 2001-02 based on the Tamil Nadu Sales Tax (Settlement of Arrears) Act 2008. The Act was introduced based on the announcement made by Commercial Taxes Minister S.N.M. Ubayadullah in the Assembly. He said Rs. 2,711.36 crore was pending.
