e-classrooms at VSU

NELLORE: The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education has sanctioned Rs. 50 lakh for construction of e-classrooms in Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU), which is for the first of its kind in the state, said VSU Vice-Chancellor C.R. Visweswara Rao. The sanction of e-classrooms was announced at a meeting organised by APSCHE with the Vice-Chancellors of 11 new universities (which were not yet recognised by University Grants Commission), at Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Speaking to The Hindu over phone, Prof Visweswara Rao said the e-classrooms would be provided with computers, LCD projectors and other facilities. Council chairman K.C. Reddy has asked to submit proposals for Rs. 10 crore for construction of new building for the university.

The amount would be utilised for constructed labs, outdoor and indoor stadiums, a health centre, inflibnet and appointing necessary faculty in the newly set up university, said the VC.

VSU Registrar V. Narayana Reddy thanked the APSCHE chairman for sanctioning e-classrooms and for granting the amount for constructing the university building.
