Vijay Jolly’s car attacked

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Some unidentified miscreants hurled stones on the Mahendra Scorpio car of the BJP candidate from New Delhi, Vijay Jolly, at Laxmi Bai Nagar in his constituency on Wednesday night.

Mr. Jolly, who had gone to meet some of the workers, was not in the vehicle when it was targeted. The jeep’s windscreen was damaged.

The BJP leader said the elections should be fought peacefully and violence had no place in a democracy.

Terming the incident unfortunate, Mr. Jolly said there seemed a design behind it as only a day earlier permission for a rally by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in his constituency was denied.
