The Government of India have decided that a minimum of 2,50,000 kilowatts of nuclear power should be included in the power programme of the Third Plan, Prime Minister Nehru told the Rajya Sabha on November 27. For this, they had to install two atomic power stations. In a country like India, where power from other sources was limited, the Prime Minister said, they should increase atomic power.
