Ration shops raided

PUDUKOTTAI: In a raid on fair price shops in parts of the district, irregularities such as under-stock of essential commodities, shortage of non-control commodities, bogus billing and unaccounted receipts were detected. A release issued here on Thursday said that the officials of three teams of flying squad conducted the raid on 39 fair price shops and found irregularities amounting to Rs. 6,784. Joint Registrar of Co-operatives Rama. Jayam Pandian has ordered disciplinary action against the erring salespersons.
