COIMBATORE: As part of the Children’s Day celebrations, an art and craft workshop was organised for children of Savvos, a home in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar at Sowripalayam, by the Ladies’ Wing of Art of Living. Children below 10 years of age made greeting cards and older children painted terracotta lamps. According to a release, it was a riot of colours, creative ideas and fun for the children with lots of paint, colour pencils, sketches, and sequins. Some of the children had never used such paints before. And, most of them were making a card for the first time. A mehndi party was also organised. Professionals were brought to decorate children’s palms with intricate designs. The organisation planned to organise dental check up for these children and a general check up too. The Art of Living’s personality development course, a 22-hour programme comprising yogasanas, meditation, specific breathing exercises, coupled with lively games, would be extended to the children. A course held in over 145 countries, it enhanced the confidence of children. The organisation also planned to conduct handwriting, value education and Vedic mathematics classes for the children.
