On high note: Students participating in group singing competition at KGRL College at Bhimavaram on Friday night. Bhimavaram: Andhra University will conduct a cultural meet to encourage cultural activities among students, Vice-Chancellor B. Satyanarayana said. Speaking after inaugurating a three-day Bhima Youth Festivals at KGRL College and its allied education institutions on Friday, he said Andhra University had taken the decision to give priority to NSS activities among students. He underlined the need to conduct youth festivals for college students to improve their cultural events besides imparting academic career. He said Andhra University was adjudged as the best university in the country for giving top priority to academic career of the students. He has complimented the management of KGRLCollege for conducting the youth festivals. Mente Padma Nabham, former MP and secretary-correspondent, Bhimavaram Education Society, has urged the Government to set up separate university either at Kakinada or at Rajahmundry. Bommidi Narayana Rao, MLC, Thota Sita Rama Lakshmi, Chairperson, Bhimavaram Municipality, Sagi Babu Raju, Director of SRKR Engineering College, Bhanu Kumar, Dean of students affairs (AU), Lakshmana Rao, Director PG Courses, B.D. Satyam, M. Satyanarayana, Reader, and others attended Youth Festivals. M. Sai Manikyala Rao, Principal KGRL College and Convenor Bhima Youth Festivals submitted a detailed report. Nearly 2,500 students from West Godavari, East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts have participated in the youth festival. When the students of SRKR Engineering College have demanded Prof. B Satyanarayana promised to look into their demand for conducting supplementary examinations to engineering Students
