BHUBANESWAR: The Department of Tourism has postponed its annual Konark festival of Indian classical dance from December 1 to 5 to December 4 to 8, as national mourning was declared on the demise of former Prime Minister V.P. Singh. “We will announce details of the schedule after consulting with the groups who are scheduled to perform,” explained the officials. Ironically, the hosts are yet to make any publicity regarding this major event that seeks to explore tourism potentials of the State. “We have no news of the festival,” said several tour operators of the city. Although the department hurriedly convened a media conference on Friday to announce the festival details, it was cancelled for reasons best known to the officials. Bhubaneswar Film feteThe five-day Bhubaneswar Film Festival hosted by the Film Society of Bhubaneswar and scheduled for screening at the Jayadev Bhawan from November 28 to December 2 has been postponed. The organisers informed that the auditorium is being renovated that compelled them to delay the dates. They have, however, not announced the rescheduled dates.
