Retired teacher found dead

Tirupur: E. Gnanam (61), a retired government teacher, was allegedly strangulated to death at Udumalpet near here on Sunday.

The body was found inside her house situated at State Bank Colony. The police said a pillow was lying beside the body and another pillow in the bathroom situated adjacent to the room.

Senior officials led by Superintendent of Police (Coimbatore rural) G. Karthikeyan visited the spot. Sniffer dogs were pressed into service.

The deceased is survived by two sons.
