IMPHAL: Two militants were killed in an encounter with the police commandos in Thoubal district of Manipur on Sunday, official sources said. The commandos raided Natek Palli, 35 km from Imphal, following reports of movement of militants. Militants fired upon the police when they reached the area at around 1 p.m. The police retaliated killing two militants on the spot, the sources said. Two 9 mm pistols were recovered from the spot. The bodies have been sent to the Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital for post mortem. So far 360 persons have been killed in militancy-related incidents in the State since January this year. — PTI
