dated December 1, 1958: Berlin issue

A four-Power working group of Western diplomats has been set up in Washington to maintain constant consultations on the Berlin situation, diplomatic sources said on November 29. Senior diplomats from the British, French and West German embassies compose the group together with state department officials led by Mr. Martin Hillen-brand, director of the department’s office of German Affairs. A similar group is operating in Bonn, the sources said.
