Thick fog disrupts flight schedules

Nedumbassery: International flight services to the Cochin International Airport in the early hours of Sunday were partially disrupted due to poor visibility on account of thick fog on the runway.

The Air Arabia flight (G9-427) from Sharjah, scheduled to land here at 2.25 am, was diverted to Thiruvananthapuram and later returned at 6.15 am.

In the return leg, it departed from here at 6.45 a.m with a delay of more than three hours.

The other flights taking diversion to the state capital were Ettihad (EY- 280) from Abu Dhabi and Qatar Airways flight (QR 264) from Doha.

The Qatar flight landed here at 6.35 a.m. against the scheduled time of 3.50 a.m. and the flight from Abu Dhabi at 7 a.m. against 3.50 a.m.. The flights later took off from here at 7.40 a.m. and 8 a.m. respectively.
