BANGALORE: The former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) president, H.D. Deve Gowda, has written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressing serious concern over the increasing incidence of terrorism in the country and the resultant feeling of insecurity among the people.
In his letter, Mr. Gowda expressed his inability to attend the all-party meeting called by the Prime Minister.
“I am unable to attend the meeting due to my poor health and I am deputing the Janata Dal (Secular) Parliamentary party leader M.P. Veerendra Kumar, MP, to attend this important meeting on my behalf.”
Mr. Gowda said, “Through this letter, I would like to express my serious concern over the increasing incidence of terrorism in the country which have resulted in growing insecurity among our citizens.
Such incidents are also bound to have implications on our crucial tourism sector, foreign investment and above all the nation’s image as a strong democracy where the rule of law prevails”.
