Police open fire

TIRUVARUR: The police fired four rounds in the air to disperse a crowd that attacked a police convoy at Marudinkavali in Muthupet on Sunday.

The police said the rain-affected residents of Marudinkavali had been demanding that Minister for Dairy Development U. Mathivannan visit their area, but he did not do so after visiting Muthupet.
