KURNOOL: Farmers led by CPI(M) district secretary T. Shadrak staged a protest at the Jindal cement plant at Bilakala Gudur near Gadivemula seeking adequate compensation for those who lost their land.
Mr. Shadrak said the factory acquired a total of 780 acres of assessed waste dry land in two villages. But farmers were granted pattas by the revenue authorities for 292 acres of it. At Budanur farmers had pattas for 92 acres. He sought compensation to the land owners before starting the operations.
