KADAPA: Collector M.T. Krishna Babu on Monday directed closure of belt shops at Brahmamgari Matham, a pilgrim centre. Responding to a representation by one Veeranarayana Reddy of Brahmamgari Matham who lamented inaction by officials concerned on six belt shops functioning at the place, Mr. Krishna Babu instructed Kadapa SP D.S. Chauhan and Excise Superintendent of Proddatur to take steps to close them down. He warned the excise official of action if belt shops continued to operate. Interacting with callers during the ‘Dial Your Collector’ programme, he told Education Department officials to give budget authorisation to Kadapa DEO G.A. Hemanath, when Venkatanarayana of Boodidavandlapalle village said education volunteers were not being disbursed salaries since June this year. Zilla Parishad CEO Venkataswamy, DWMA project director Anil Kumar Reddy, district manager of housing Ramasubbu, CEO of STEP Maheswara Reddy, ED of SC Corporation and others were present.
