Amit, Ankit slam centuries

KOLKATA: Uttar Pradesh sent Tamil Nadu on a leather hunt on the second day of the four-day under-22 C.K. Nayudu Trophy pre-quarterfinal match here on Monday.

Chasing Tamil Nadu’s 226, Uttar Pradesh was propelled by Amit Singh’s unbeaten 167 (333b, 21x4) and Ankit Paul’s 138 (208b, 23x4) as it ended the day at 408 for two.

In another match, Jammu & Kashmir was reeling at 71 for five in its second essay after Railways made 336 in its first innings in reply to the former’s 171.

The scores:

TN 226 vs. Uttar Pradesh 408 for two (Amit Singh 167 n.o., Ankit Paul 138, Ravi Kant Shukla 57 n.o.).
