Mumbai: England is agreeable to playing the first Test in Chennai from December 11 to 15 and the second Test at Mohali from December 19 to 23. The three-day warm up game against the BCCI President’s XI at Vadodara has been cancelled. A release issued by the BCCI Secretary N. Srinivasan says that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) security consultant will meet the Indian Government security agencies before the final clearance of the tour. Earlier, the BCCI approached the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) to host one of the two Tests after Ahmedabad, the venue for the first Test, was not favoured by the ECB. The Joint Secretary of the PCA, G.S. Walia, told The Hindu on Monday that the PCA had agreed to stage the second Test. “We have taken everything into consideration and will be ready for the second Test beginning on December 19. The BCCI has put forward the proposal to the ECB. Everything depends on the talks between the BCCI and the ECB.” — Special Correspondent
