Australia completes rout scoreboard

Adelaide: Brett Lee’s five-wicket haul helped Australia inflict an innings and 62-run defeat on New Zealand on the fourth day of the second and final Test at the Adelaide Oval on Monday. Australia claimed the series 2-0.

New Zealand started the fourth day 230 runs behind, before finding itself at 84 for six. An unbeaten 84 by Brendon McCullum took the visiting side past 200.

Lee had a feisty 10-over spell which fetched him four wickets for 23 runs, virtually sealing the win for Australia. The fast-bowler scalped five for 105 to finish with match figures of nine wickets for 171 runs.
