Crackers bag creates panic

NEW DELHI: A bag containing fire-crackers abandoned in an auto-rickshaw by two young men set off panic in the Kotla Mubarakpur area of South Delhi on Monday.

The two men carrying a bag had boarded the auto-rickshaw driven by Mamchand near Bhikaji Cama Place. They were passing by Kotla Mubarakpur around 6-15 p.m. when the passengers apparently noticed policemen conducting a check near a gurdwara. They asked the driver to stop on some pretext and one of them left, and after a few minutes the second person also fled.

Suspecting that something was amiss, the driver informed a beat police officer about the bag.

The police later found that it contained fire-crackers.
