Legal aid and awareness camp held

KRISHNAGIRI: A legal aid and legal awareness camp was organised recently at the forest village at Anna Nagar in Bargur Union in the district.
District Legal Services Authority, Forest Department and Social Welfare Organisation for Rural Development (SWORD), a Non-Governmental Organisation, jointly organised the programme.
Special Judge Balasubramanian presided over the programme. He spoke about the law to protect women from family violence, Right to Information Act, laws related to women and services of the Legal Aid Authority.
SWORD director Jalaludin, Forest committee member Ravi participated. Forest Ranger Selvaraj welcomed the gathering. Forest committee executive committee member Anbu proposed a vote of thanks. Members of SHGs in and around Bargur participated in the camp.
