Special squad

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Minister for Information and Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), Katta Subramanya Naidu, has directed the BWSSB officials to form a special squad to prevent the leakage of water.

In a progress review meeting at BWSSB here on Monday, the Minister said that the BWSSB is suffering a loss of Rs. 5 crore every month due to leakage of water and unaccounted for water (UFW).

The officials concerned should take steps to revamp the existing vigilance squads of the BWSSB, as the squads are not functioning properly. The Government is ready to amend laws for the betterment of the BWSSB, he said.
