MADURAI: About 40 folk artistes who assembled in front of the Collectorate urged the district administration to issue free house site ‘pattas’ to them here on Monday. In a petition, they said that though they received ‘pattas’ issued by the tahsildar (South), the names were not correct. The beneficiaries had in a letter dated September 29 urged the officials to issue new patta books after making proper amends, but till now there was no information about it. With musical instrumentsAs they assembled with their musical instruments in the forenoon, a crowd thronged the Collectorate campus. The police instructed them to vacate the area, following which they dispersed after submitting a memorandum with the officials.
