The Tavarekere police have registered a case. The police are waiting for the autopsy report.

Robbed

Two men clad in burkha robbed a woman of Rs. 25,000 and 250 grams of gold ornaments from her house in Lakkasandra on Tuesday.

The police said Mehmood, a goldsmith, and his four children left home in the morning leaving Mehmood’s wife Kareema alone. Around 10.30 a.m., two persons clad in burkha knocked the door of the house and as Kareema opened the door, they pushed her inside and hit her. Later they tied her with rope and fled with the cash and gold ornaments.

The Adugodi police have registered a case.

Critical

The condition of industrialist Ashok and his wife Jayabala, who attempted to commit suicide on Monday, continues to be critical. Ashok (33), his wife Jayabala (30) and daughter Trisha (8) were found lying unconscious in their house near Krupanidhi College. Jayabala’s sister Yamini admitted them to the hospital and lodged a complaint. Trisha died while undergoing treatment.

The police said Ashok, who runs a unit manufacturing paper cups, was facing financial problems. This might have led him to poison himself and his family.

Arrested

The Siddapura police arrested eight persons for allegedly transporting seven cows to slaughter house in Tilak Nagar on Tuesday.

The cows were being brought in two trucks from Tamil Nadu.
