Kakinada: Sri Prakash Synergy School, Peddapuram is hosting a three-day District science fair commencing on December 5. About 3,000 students from 300 upper primary schools and 840 high schools are expected to take part in the event, according to divisional education officer K.V. Ramana. Speaking to media persons at the school on Wednesday, Mr. Ramana said the exhibits would be covering the themes agriculture and food security, conservation of natural resources, combating climate change, harnessing energy, mathematical modelling and disaster management. The students are being accommodated in seven schools: three for girls and the remaining for boys. Food arrangements are being made by the management of Annavaram temple and Durga Charitable Trust. Mr. Ramana said essay writing, quiz, elocution and painting competitions would also be conducted for the students. Registration would be done from the afternoon of December 4. The fair will be inaugurated by Peddapuram MLA Thota Gopalakrishna. The district ministers and other local people’s representatives and Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi would be among the dignitaries participating in the event.
