dated December 4, 1958: New Constitution for Pak

The Pakistan President, General Ayub Khan, said in Quetta that Pakistan would not copy the Constitution of any country. It would have a Constitution entirely of its own in keeping with the country’s social and economic conditions, he added. Gen. Ayub, who was addressing a Press conference on December 2 said, “Once we solve such vital problems, as the resettlement of refugees, land reforms, modification of educational and legal systems and other important national issues, we will consult the best brains and ascertain the feelings of the people in order to draw up a Constitution best suited to the needs of our country."
