TN spikers reign
CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu won the boy’s and girls’ titles in the National sub-junior volleyball championship, which concluded in Jammu on Wednesday.
While the boys retained the title, the girls regained it after a gap of four years. Both the teams have now won the title seven times.
The results: Boys: Final: TN bt U.P. 25-22, 25-21, 25-20; Third place: Kerala defeated Karnataka 25-20, 25-22, 25-21. Girls: Final: TN bt West Bengal 25-22, 25-18, 25-18; Third place: U.P. bt Karnataka 18-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-15.
Final positions: Boys: 1. Tamil Nadu, 2. U.P., 3. Kerala, 4. Karnataka, 5. AP, 6. Punjab, 7. Manipur, 8. J & K.
Girls: 1. Tamil Nadu, 2. West Bengal, 3. U.P., 4. Karnataka, 5. Maharashtra, 6. Haryana, 7. Kerala, 8. AP.
