Manipur Minister's kidnapped son rescued

IMPHAL: The kidnapped son of Manipur Health Minister Pheiroijam Parijat has been rescued from Bongjang village in Senapati district by Assam Rifles personnel, official sources said on Friday.

Pheiroijam Okenjeet (26), son of Mr. Parijat, was kidnapped at gunpoint from the Minister’s residence in the interior Nongada area in Imphal East district on Wednesday night by militants of the Kangleipak Communist Party-Military Council. The militants had demanded a ransom of Rs. 20 lakh.- PTI
