Endocrine Society meet in city

KOCHI: Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) will host ESICON 2008, the 38th annual conference of the Endocrine Society of India here from December 18 to 20.

Organisers here said that the meeting will be a forum where experts will meet, present and discuss new research and treatment options for endocrine diseases.

Over 800 delegates from the country and abroad will participate in the discussions on all aspects of endocrinology.

A study conducted by the endocrinology department of AIMS had found that nearly 16 per cent of the adult population in and around Kochi have disorders of thyroid glands.
