Talented lot: Principal Secretary, Department of Kannada and Culture, Subir Hari Singh (left) interacting with hearing impaired artists, at the exhibition in Bangalore on Friday. Bangalore: If you visit the first floor of the Venkatappa Art Gallery, the left corner of the room might scare you for a moment. Tigers leap out of cloth canvases, immediately transporting you to the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. Artist Imamudin has painted them with great precision. “I watched, remembered and painted the tigers,” he says about his paintings, which take about 15 days each to complete. Many other works of art are part of the display by the Foundation for Art and Culture for Deaf, to mark International Day of Disabled Persons. The show brings together 13 hearing impaired, professional artists of all age groups from across the country, under one roof, to display their prowess. Entry for the exhibition is free, and it is open till December 9, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
