From 1996 to 2008, Rajahmundry Asset has contributed Rs 2,360.11 crores for welfare activities Kakinada: The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) on Saturday donated Rs 97 lakhs under its Corporate Social Responsibility scheme for various community development activities in the Konaseema area. ONGC Manager (Rajahmundry Asset) A.A. Khan presented a cheque to the Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi in the presence of Amalapuram MP G.V. Harsha Kumar. From 1996 to 2008, ONGC Rajahmundry Asset has contributed Rs 2,360.11 crores for various welfare and development activities and towards statutory payments to the State and Central exchequers, according to an official release. Between 1987 and 2008, the ONGC spent Rs 11,780.54 lakh on construction and improvement of roads and bridges in the areas of its operations. Of this, a sum of Rs 2,060.75 lakh was spent on laying of new roads and constructing bridges and Rs 2,463.85 lakh for improving roads and bridges approximately measuring 1,017 kilometers. The Rajahmundry asset of ONGC completed three decades of economic development in the State. ONGC Rajahmundry is considered a ‘mini ONGC’ since all gamut of exploration and production activities.
