Probe sought into re-evaluation

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Karnataka, sees a scam in the re-evaluation of answer scripts of 3,582 of II and III year engineering students of the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, and demanded a departmental probe into the matter.

Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, State ABVP Secretary P.M. Ravichandra alleged that a large number of students lost their eligibility to the final year of BE because of the negligence by the university authorities.

The ABVP has briefed the Minister for Higher Education, Arvind Limbavali on the “irregularities” in the re-evaluation of answer scripts and urged him to order the departmental inquiry to punish the guilty, Mr. Ravindra said.
