NUZVID (Krishna dist): The Agiripalli police arrested three persons on the charge of assaulting a woman Sub-Inspector of police and a constable and obstructing them from discharging their duties. According to the police, Katta Sridevi, a Sub-Inspector in women’s police station at Nampally in Hyderabad, along with a constable Chandramohan, came to Agiripalli to investigate a dowry harassment case. As both the Sub-Inspector and the constable were in plain clothes, Madala Krishna Rao and her son Jawahar, who were prime accused in the dowry harassment case, attacked them with the help of seven others. The attack continued even as both the Sub-Inspector and the constable tried to show their identity cards. Both of them lodged a complaint with the Agiripalli police. They were undergoing treatment at Government Hospital in Nuzvid. Besides Krishna Rao and Jawahar, the police arrested K. Ramesh on the charge of assaulting the police and were on the lookout for the other accused persons. A case was registered.
