Vedike activists stop train
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: Members of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike on Saturday held a symbolic protest here on Saturday condemning the statement of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on the Hogenakkal project work.
The vedike members came to the city railway station around 6 a.m. and blocked the Lalbagh Express.
When the Railway police threatened them of arrest if they delayed the train’s departure, the activists held a symbolic protest and allowed the train to leave the station around 6.35 a.m., said Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhura Veena.
No other trains were stopped, she added.
