College students’ sahitya sammelan on Wednesday

MANGALORE: The 12th Mangalore University-level college students’ sahitya sammelan will be held at Sharada Vidyalaya here on December 10.

Mitra Mandali of Kota and Dakshina Kannada Sahithya Parishat will host the conference on the occasion of the death anniversary of Jnanpith Award winner Kota Shivaram Karanth.

Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president of the parishat, said 250 students were expected to participate in it. Students had taken the responsibility of organising literary activities on that day.

Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University K.M. Kaveriappa would inaugurate the conference. M. Sampath K. Pakkala, a student of Karavali College, would preside over the conference, he said.

There would be a literary session and a “kavi gosti”, he said.

In addition, there would be an interaction with former presidents of such sammelans, he said.
