Police in Thalassery, Mahe to work together

Special Correspondent

THALASSERY: Coordination between police arrangements in the Thalassery and Mahe areas would be strengthened, Home Ministers of Kerala and Puducherry said on Sunday.

Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and his Puducherry counterpart E. Valsaraj stressed at a function here on Sunday the need to strengthen the coordination of the police machinery of Thalassery and Mahe.

Traffic arrangements

Both Mr. Balakrishnan and Mr. Valsaraj said the police in both the neighbouring places would cooperate to improve traffic arrangements. They said that they would work together to make the proposed Thalassery-Mahe bypass a reality.

The Ministers were speaking at a reception organised by the Kerala School of Arts here on the occasion of its 75th anniversary.

The Puducherry Minister was an old student of the school.

Thalassery municipal chairman K.P. Raveendran presided over the function. Mahe municipal chairman Ramesh Parambath unveiled the plan of the school’s new proposed campus.

Artists K.K. Marar and P.S. Karunakaran were also present at the function.
