Three killed in car-lorry collision

ANANTAPUR: Three persons were killed when the car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry coming on the opposite direction near Kowlepalli in Kadiri rural mandal in the district in the wee hours of Sunday.
According to the police, one S. Sudarshan, 32, a contractor, was coming to Kadiri from Madanapalle in his car. He met his acquaintances G. Krishnamurthy, 42, an employee of SBI Kadiri and Ch. Gurrappa, 35, both of Kadiri at Ratnalapalli in Nallacheruvu mandal. The three set off for Kadiri and when the car was passing near Kowlepalli a lorry going towards Madanapalle rammed into their car. The accident killed Sudarshan and Krishnamurthy on the spot. The injured Gurrappa was moved to the Government Area Hospital at Kadiri, where he succumbed later.
